Children's Day is celebrated on various days in many places around the world, in particular to honor children. Ma jor global variants include a Universal Children's Day on November 20, by United Nations recommendation.< span>[1] Children's Day is often celebrated o n other days as well.

dren in Geneva, Switzerland proclaimed June 1 to be International Children'
s Day in 1925. It is usually marked with speeches on children's rights and
wellbeing, children TV programs, parties, various actions involving or dedi
cated to children, families going out, etc.

sonalities and to celebrate their happiness. It was designated a national h
oliday by the Japanese government in 1948.
The day was originally cal
led Tango no Sekku (端午の節
1477;), and was celebrated on the 5th day of the 5
th moon in the lunar calendar or Chinese calendar. After Ja
pan's switch to the Gregorian calendar, the date was moved to
May 5.[
